Log of the Cruise – Cork 2nd June 2014

(The following log features extracts from the Ship’s Official Log Book, with the entries recorded by the Officer of the Watch on the Navigational Bridge - British Isles with Ruby Princess May 23 to June 4, 2013)  At 05:12 we embarked the pilot and continued on our 11 nm passage through a narrow channel called “The Sound” towards our berth in Cobh (pronounced “COVE”). At 06:36 the first line was sent ashore by a mooring boat, all lines were fast and gangways where rigged at 07:00. In the afternoon, by 16:43 propulsion and thrusters were requested to bridge control, when all passengers and crew were confirmed back onboard. Ruby Princess began thrusting off her berth at 17:07 and proceeded back out of The Sound under the guidance of the local Pilot. Once clear off the channel, we disembarked the pilot at 17:59 and set an easterly course towards the Lands’ End Traffic Separation Scheme or TSS. Then when Ruby Princess safely cleared the TSS, at 01:00, we will enter into the English Channel and set course for St Peter Port.
