Vienna - Belvedere (Palace and Museum)

PT// Começámos no Belvedere 21, onde encontrámos arte contemporânea da Áustria e exposições internacionais temporárias.   Seguimos então para o Palácio Belvedere. O Belvedere não é apenas um magnífico palácio barroco, mas também abriga uma das coleções de arte mais valiosas da Áustria – com obras-chave de Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele e Oskar Kokoschka.   Finalmente um passeio pelos jardins do Belvedere, destaque da arquitectura paisagística barroca, até ao Lower Belvedere (onde esteva uma exposição com obras de Salvador Dali). EN// We started at Belvedere 21 where we found contemporary art from Austria and temporary, international exhibitions.  We folow then to the Belvedere Palace. The Belvedere is not only a magnificent Baroque palace but also houses one of Austria's most valuable art collections – with key works by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka.  Finally a walking through the gardens of the Belvedere, a highlight of Baroque landscape architecture, until the Lower Belvedere (where was a exhibition with works of Salvador Dali).

Vienna - Schwarzenbergplatz

PT// A Schwarzenbergplatz é uma das praças mais grandiosas de Viena, no centro da praça está a estátua equestre do príncipe de Schwarzenberg que comandou as forças austríacas e aliadas contra Napoleão na Batalha de Leipizig em 1813 e a fonte iluminada, atrás dela ergue-se o Memorial da Guerra Soviética, um monumento ao Exército Vermelho, que libertou Viena na Segunda Guerra. EN// Schwarzenbergplatz is one of the most grandiose squares in Vienna, in the center of the square is the equestrian statue of the Prince of Schwarzenberg who commanded the Austrian and Allied forces against Napoleon in the Battle of Leipizig in 1813 and the illuminated fountain, behind it stands the Memorial of the Soviet War, a monument to the Red Army, which liberated Vienna in World War II.

Vienna - St. Stephen's Cathedral

Vienna - Karlsplatz

PT// Localizada na fronteira entre o 1º e 4º distritos de Viena, Karlsplatz é uma praça turbulenta e muito movimentada em Viena. A praça tem o nome do imperador Karl VI. Durante o surto da epidemia de peste, ele prometeu construir uma igreja aqui – a Karlskirche (visitámos o seu interior e subimos ao terraço onde tem uma bela vista sobre a praça). A maior parte da Karlsplatz é ocupada pelo chamado Resselpark. EN// Located on the border between the 1st and 4th districts of Vienna, Karlsplatz is a bustling and very busy square in Vienna. The square is named after Emperor Karl VI. During the outbreak of the plague, he promised to build a church here – the Karlskirche (we visited its interior and went up to the terrace where it has a beautiful view over the square). Most of Karlsplatz is occupied by the so-called Resselpark.

Vienna - Schönbrunn Palace and environs

PT// Visita ao Palácio de Schönbrunn que foi construído há cerca de 300 anos. Foi a casa de verão dos imperadores e onde a Imperatriz Elisabeth, a lendária "Sisi", passou aqui os primeiros anos de seu casamento.   Após a visita um Sightseeing-train pelo parque do palácio até o Gloriette de onde temos uma vista maravilhosa da cidade.   Na saída, tempo para passar pelo impressionante labirinto. EN//  Visit to Schönbrunn Palace that was built about 300 years ago. Was the summer house of the emperors and were the Empress Elisabeth, the legendary "Sisi", spent the first years of her marriage here.  After the visit a Sightseeing-train through the palace park to the Gloriette from where we have a wonderful view of the city.   On the way out time to pass through the impressive maze.
