Athens - Philopappou Hill


PT// A colina é coroada por um monumento de mármore a um cônsul romano do Reino de Commagene, Gaius Julius Antiochus Epiphanes Philopappos. Uma inscrição do século VI aC nas rochas perto da igreja de Agia Marina sugere que pode ter havido um santuário dedicado a Zeus no local.
 A colina foi plantada com pinheiros no início do século 20 pela filha do rei Paulo, Sofia, mais tarde rainha Sofia da Espanha.
  Um dos melhores pontos de observação da cidade, com uma perspectiva privilegiada da Acrópole, bem como da paisagem urbana e do mar.
