A forma da praça atual reproduz com precisão o perímetro do antigo estádio que o imperador construiu em 86 d.C. para competições de atletismo e corridas de cavalos. A praça é dominada pela Igreja de Sant'Agnese in Agone, uma das mais magníficas arquiteturas barrocas de Roma. Três fontes adornam a praça: Fontana del Moro, Fontana de 'Calderari e, ao centro, a imponente Fonte dos Quatro Rios. EN// Navona Square is one of the most spectacular and characteristic squares of Baroque Rome, built on the remains of the Stadium of Domitian. The shape of the current square reproduces precisely the perimeter of the ancient stadium that the emperor built in 86 AD for athletics competitions and horse racing. PT// A construção do monumental Sant'Andrea della Valle começou em 1591. O plano é baseado em uma cruz latina. Estruturalmente existe uma vasta nave ladeada por oito capelas altas que acentuam o ritmo vertical do edifício. A bela cúpula construída por Maderno foi a segunda mais alta de Roma depois da de São Pedro. Do lado de fora, na lateral da igreja, fica a estátua do chamado “abade Luigi”, uma das muitas estátuas falantes da cidade. EN// The construction of the monumental Sant’Andrea della Valle started in 1591. The plan is based on a Latin cross. Structurally there is a vast nave flanked by eight high chapels that emphasize the vertical rhythm of the building. The beautiful dome built by Maderno was the second highest in Rome after St Peter’s. Outside, on the side of the church, there’s the statue of the so-called “Abbot Luigi”, one of the many talking statues in the city. |

Um vestíbulo retangular liga o alpendre à rotunda, que está sob uma cúpula de caixotões de cimento, com uma abertura central (óculo) para o céu. Quase dois mil anos depois de sua construção, a cúpula do Pantheon ainda é a maior cúpula de cimento não reforçado do mundo. The building is cylindrical with a portico of large granite Corinthian columns under a pediment.
